The College of Comparative Law held a mock job interview for this year's graduating students who applied for 'Selected Graduates' to enhance their interview skills on Xueyuanlu Campus on the afternoon of 10 Nov, 2023.

Student Tutor Yang Mingquan and Zhou Fangzheng attended the event. One teacher from a training institution for the National Civil Servant Examination was invited to be the judge. Each procedure of the mock interview followed the instructions of the interview session of the national and Beijing regional examination for 2023 admissions to the civil service. 14 graduating students participated in the rehearsal.

Before the interview, the training teacher explained the interview skills and ideas for answers to basic questions of the interview in ‘Selected Graduates’ exams. Then the students drew lots for grouping and entered the interview one by one. They were allowed to sit aside in silence to observe and learn from other interviewees after finishing their own. The real interview scene let the students get into the game quickly, which achieved the goal of this mock interview,

The judge provided each interviewee with advice on the improvement of their communication and appearance. He affirmed the excellent performance of the students, while also pointed out their problems directly, and put forward suggestions for improvement. Finally, the judge summed up the overall performance of the students, made a key reminder of major common problems, and encouraged the students to go to the examination room with confidence and play their best game.

After the event, the students all said that they benefited a lot from this interview and would practice more in according with the suggestions and strive to give the best performance in the formal interview.
