Chair of the University Council Jiang Zeting visited the College and had a discussion with the deans of the college and representatives of the teaching faculty on the morning of 25 March, 2025. Vice President Shi Jianzhong and heads of certain university departments accompanied the visit.

Chair of the College Council Gu Yongqiang and Dean of the College Xie Zhiyong introduced the basic situation of the college, focusing on the training of foreign-related rule of law talents, the construction of characteristic disciplines, and the establishement of regional and national rule of law.

Jiang pointed out that the College should implement the requirements of thoroughly deepening comprehensive reform, innovate development ideas, and coordinate the establishment of talent team, scientific research platform and discipline. He said that the College should plan for the construction of emerging interdisciplinary disciplines, accelerate the transformation of digital intelligence, explore the construction of a large model of comparative law databases, strengthen the cultivation of foreign-related rule of law talents in subdivided fields, and strengthen the coordination and linkage inside and outside the University, as well as striving for Sino-foreign cooperative education programmes and actively integrate into the ‘one center and multi-base’ construction layout of the university to achieve high-quality development of the college.

Shi pointed out that the College is an important support for the university's work on the rule of law concerning foreign affairs. According to him, the College should take the study of national laws as a guide, open up the traditional disciplinary knowledge system, and integrate the high-quality resources of the university, explore the construction of interdisciplinary subjects of regional and national studies, further strengthen academic research on the rule of law involving foreign countries, continue to do a good job in transforming achievements, promote the reform and innovation of training models, summarise the experience of personnel training, and improve personnel training programmes, enhancing the training characteristics and quality of foreign-related rule of law talents.
